An Alabama independent contractor agreement is a contract for a business or individual that is performing a service in exchange for payment. The party receiving the services, the “client,” will usually pay at its completion. Under this type of arrangement, the payer of the services does not have the same obligations as an employer. Therefore, the contractor will be responsible for paying State and Federal income tax in addition to providing themselves with benefits such as health insurance.
