Iowa Independent Contractor Agreement

Updated February 21, 2022

An Iowa independent contractor agreement is a document signed by a contractor and the entity that hired them for a specific job or task. A contractor is hired temporarily to complete a job for the entity and is not technically an employee of said entity. A contractor agreement will help establish the guidelines for the relationship entered into by both parties and can avoid legal hassle during or upon termination of the relationship. This type of agreement should be negotiated by both parties so that each may include favorable clauses to ensure their rights are accounted for. Aside from services and payment for services, provisions within a contractor agreement may include expenses, licenses, taxes, insurance, and termination options.
