A New York subcontractor agreement is a document that is used to hire a subcontractor to take part in a project awarded to the original contractor. The main difference between a subcontractor and a contractor is that the contractor is hired by the client and deals directly with them. The agreement must describe the tasks that the subcontractor has to complete, the rate of financial compensation, the payment schedule, and the date by which the work must be completed.

“”Subcontractor” means any person, firm, partnership, corporation, company, association, organization or other entity, or any combination thereof, which is a party to a contract with a contractor or another subcontractor to perform a portion of work pursuant to a construction contract.”
