A Vermont employment contract is an agreement implemented at the beginning of a working relationship to define the conditions for an available position with an employer. When an employer seeks to hire an employee, they should draft a contract agreement to not only document the employee’s duties and salary but also indicate the duration in which the employee will be employed (if not indefinite). Establishing these provisions assures an employer that the individual understands what is to be expected of them and is in compliance with their terms.
