A Washington D.C. 30-day notice to pay or quit is sent to a tenant when the rent has not been paid within five (5) days after its due date. The notice gives thirty (30) days for the rent, and all fees, to be paid-in-full. If the tenant does not pay, they will be forced to move out of the property or face an eviction lawsuit (judgment for possession).
