Nevada Notary Acknowledgment Form

Updated September 01, 2023

A Nevada notary acknowledgment form is a tool used by a notary public to verify and validate the signatures of a legal document. Certain documents require notarization before they are considered legal as the process certifies the identity of the signer and confirms that they signed by their own free will. For a notary acknowledgment, the signatory is not mandated to sign the document in a notary’s presence. All that is required is for the individual to present themselves with their complete document and to identify themselves with a valid ID that displays their signature. After the notary has identified the individual and ensured that they are not signing the document under duress, they (the notary) will notarize the document by completing the notary acknowledgment form.

How to Notarize in Nevada (4 steps)

  1. Find Notary
  2. Complete Paperwork
  3. Show ID
  4. Stamp

1. Find Notary

In order to obtain a notary acknowledgment for a document that requires a notary acknowledgment form, you will need to find a public notary. Some of the easiest places to find a public notary are banks or credit unions (Wells Fargo and U.S. Bank have the most locations in the state) and UPS Stores, or you could also find a private notary near you.

2. Complete Paperwork

Fill out all of the required fields of your legal document before bringing it to a notary. If you need to have witnesses co-sign your document, they should do so after witnessing your signature because both of your signing dates must match. It is not required to have the notary witness the signing of the document in the case of a notary acknowledgment.

3. Show ID

Bring the completed form to the notary and identify yourselves with an ID that the notary deems necessary.

4. Stamp

The notary notarizes the document by filling out the notary acknowledgment form and providing their signature and seal or stamp.
