Security Deposit Laws

Maximum Amount – No statute.

Returning – Security deposits must be returned within 60 days of the end of a tenancy or within 45 days of a new tenant moving in, whichever is earlier.[2]

Rent Payment Laws

Grace Period – No statute.

Maximum Late Fee – Up to $15 or 5% of the monthly rent, whichever is less.[3]

NSF Fee – A landlord can charge up to $25 for a bad check.[4]
