South Carolina Security Deposit Demand Letter

Updated March 07, 2023

The South Carolina security deposit demand letter is sent to landlords who have passed the thirty (30) day deadline for returning the initial deposit to a tenant after a lease has been terminated. If the landlord does not return a security deposit within the required period, the tenant is entitled to three (3) times the amount due, plus compensation for any attorney fees. However, the tenant must provide the landlord with a mailing address or else they will not be entitled to the damages that they would otherwise be awarded by the law.
