A photography deposit receipt is used by a photographer that requires a retainer before scheduling an event or photoshoot. This is common for weddings when during the summer months a professional photographer’s time is limited and they want to ensure that they are financially compensated even if the wedding or other event is canceled.
After the event, the photographer will receive their payment in full, which will usually be the amount agreed upon by both parties minus the initial deposit. The receipt provided by the photographer will include the deposit amount, the total amount for the event (and any editing of photos/videos), location(s) of shooting, date(s) of shooting, and information on both the photographer and the hiring party.
