A Georgia security deposit demand letter is a letter sent by a tenant to a landlord who is withholding a security deposit after the termination of a lease. The tenant is required to provide the landlord with a new mailing address.

Laws

The landlord must return the tenant’s deposit within 30 days after the end of the lease agreement. If deductions are being made, the landlord must provide the tenant with a written statement of all damages and costs when returning the remainder of the deposit. If the tenant does not provide an address, the landlord may keep the deposit once 90 days have passed.[1]
